The candidate has served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pebblebrook Hotel Trust (NYSE: PEB) since October of 2009. He previously was President, Chief Executive Officer and a Trustee of LaSalle Hotel Properties (NYSE: LHO) from its formation in 1998 until his retirement in 2009. In addition, the candidate served as Chairman of the Board of LaSalle Hotel Properties from 2001 until his retirement. Prior to joining LaSalle Hotel Properties, he founded the Hotel Investment Group of Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (NYSE: JLL) in 1994 and as its President oversaw all of Jones Lang LaSalle’s hotel investment and development activities. From 1995 to 1998, as Managing Director of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Investment Advisory Division, The candidate was also responsible for certain East Coast development projects. From 1990 to 1995, he was a Senior Vice President of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Investment Division. The candidate joined Jones Lang LaSalle in 1981. He is a current member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, or NAREIT, and serves on the Board of Directors of Federal Realty Investment Trust (NYSE: FRT). The candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
