The candidate served as President of the company from 2006 to 2013. Prior to 2006, he was employed by Plum Creek Timber Company, Inc. (formerly NYSE: PCL), a timber REIT, for 23 years, serving as Executive Vice President from 2001 until 2006. The candidate received his Bachelor’s degree in Forest Resources Management from the University of Montana and his MBA from the University of Oregon. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Esterline Technologies Corp. (NYSE: ESL).

Potlatch Corp. (NASDAQ: PCH) harvests timber from some 1.6 million acres of hardwood and softwood forestland in Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Mississippi, and Minnesota; it claims to be the largest private landowner in Idaho. Potlatch operates sawmills in five states that produce logs and fiber, and lumber and panels. Beyond wood product sales, the company generates revenue by leasing its land for hunting, recreation, mineral rights, biomass production, and carbon sequestration. It also sells real estate through Potlatch TRS. Market Cap: $2 billion.
