The candidate most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts from 2013 until 2018. Prior to Four Seasons, he was Chief Executive Officer of PREI, Prudential Financial Inc.’s (NYSE: PRU) real estate investment management and advisory business. PREI offers a broad range of investment opportunities and investment management services through specialized operating units in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Earlier in his career, the candidate was an Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer of the Wyndham Hotel Company. A graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and the MPS degree from the School of Hotel Administration, he serves on the advisory board of Cornell’s Baker Program in Real Estate. The candidate is also a member of the Pension Real Estate Association and the Urban Land Institute.
Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts is a Canadian international luxury hospitality company headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. Most of the luxury hotel and resort operator’s properties are operated under the Four Seasons name, but some are Regent hotels. It has ownership interests in only about half of its properties, having shifted from a hotel owner to a hotel operator in the 1990s. In 2007 Four Seasons Hotels board members took the company private in a deal worth nearly $4 billion. Microsoft founder Bill Gates (through his private holding company Cascade Investment) and Saudi Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal’s Kingdom Hotels together own 95% of the company, in equal shares.
